Early in Barbara and Dr. Gunn’s relationship, they connected with a shared passion for healthy communities and a drive to help others improve their lives. This was evident as Barbara excelled in Corporate America, led her Block Club and the Roseland Community Neighborhood Organization, and served as an advisor to many. Dr. Gunn enhanced communities as a much-sought after holistic healthcare professional, educator, and musician.

In 2023, the founders shared passion for improving communities was maximized with the creation of The Albert L. Gunn and Barbara J. Gunn Foundation. It was established because The Gunns know that communities are strengthened when young people are economically empowered and contribute positively to society.
